Art in Theory. Condensed.

Modernism in the early twentieth century massively changed the way in which people viewed and lived there lives. The world became an ever changing place, there was massive social and cultural shifts people had more structure to how they spent there time. Time was divided into work and leisure. Alongside such changes the class system became ever more apparent and brought with it a social divide. On the other hand there came great opportunity people could noticeably change the world, it was there to be moulded .This brought new advances in technology and groundbreaking scientific discoveries.
Cubism was the turning point of the nineteenth and twentieth century, It played a massive role in the way citys were built it brought with it international symbolism and how society envisaged the future. This radical change however breeded anxity, people of the time were unsure of its relevance to day to day liveing and its general purpose.
