Semiotics.

As well as being a successful predator and feared animal the jaguar is a successful car manufacturer selling millions of vehicles over the years to millions of car enthusiasts. The shell and interiors to the cars have constantly changed and adapted but one thing that has never moved is the famous logo. Within this logo is are lots of carefully considered signifiers that influence the viewer to buy the idea and the car. The form of the jaguar connotes speed and agility, this car is fast reliable it demands respect, like the animal itself. This also leads the viewer to believe that such a car will reflect similar qualities to them. The very shape and posture of the animal screams speed and power, this speed denotes the purpose and spirit of the car to cover distance with style an ease. Another important signifier is that the animal the jaguar is viewed in society as an animal that is feared and admired for being the top of the food chain. This connotes a winning mentality that the company are delivering a quality product and offering the viewer to join in their success. The shape also signifies that the company as a whole is moving forward in the right direction. The symbol of the jaguar is brilliantly simple this connotes the idea that the car itself is equally brilliant and simple itself. The shine and colour scheme in the logo itself signifies new modern a good finish, this leaves the viewer with a real feel of quality in relation to the product.
